Atemnkeng (Atem) Nkengafac has always been passionate about technology and dance. Her journey into tech began as a child, working with her uncle to break down and rebuild computers and install operating systems. These early hands-on projects fostered her curiosity and set her on a path to pursue her interests further. In high school, she participated in robotics competitions and joined the science and tech program, where she explored computer science and learned to code.
Atem attended the University of Maryland, College Park, majoring in Information Science with a minor in Technology Entrepreneurship & Corporate Innovation. While excelling academically, she also showcased her creativity as a member of Afrochique, an African all-girls professional dance team. With her team, she performed at weddings, cultural events, and as backup dancers for artists, blending her love for dance and community.
Her technical journey continued through participating in programs like Amazon’s AWS BEN Tech Cloud Connect and a cybersecurity bootcamp, where she gained hands-on experience with ticketing systems and cybersecurity tools. After starting her career at Cloudforce as a Cloud Services Intern, Atemnkeng earned her AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certificate and quickly grew into her current role as a Cloud Services Associate. Every day, she embraces new challenges, hones her skills, and works on personal projects, such as designing and building websites for family members.
