Zack’s passion for engineering and building started at a young age, inspired by his father, who owns and runs a painting and construction company in Reston, VA. During high school, he spent summers working as an assistant carpenter, where he discovered his love for creating things that make an impact. While he enjoyed hands-on work with tools and wood, his interests began shifting toward technology.
Zack took his first programming classes in Python and Java in high school and found the same satisfaction in coding that he had in construction. That passion led him to Virginia Tech’s engineering program, where he quickly decided to major in computer science. Immersed in the world of technology, he built expertise in Python, Java, and C, exploring how the tools and systems he used daily were designed and developed. Through electives, he also pursued interests in web and app development, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
While Zack missed working alongside his father, he found a way to merge his love for construction and technology through his internships. For two summers, he worked with HITT Contracting’s Enterprise Business Solutions team, applying his technical skills to solve business challenges.
Now a Cloud Applications Engineer at Cloudforce, Zack plays a key role in nebulaONE® managed services, learning the infrastructure that powers cloud solutions. Though still early in his journey at Cloudforce, he has already gained valuable experience and recently earned his AZ-900 certification, with AZ-204 and AI-102 next on his list.
