With a passion for all things M365 and Azure, Sam actually began his career in the wide, wild world of sports broadcasting. After graduating from the University of North Texas in 2014, Sam spent seven years on the air in Texas broadcasting games for a variety of colleges—until the pandemic changed his path.

Then, after nearly three years working in the Managed Service Provider (MSP) world, two moves, and several certifications later, Sam is now applying his skills at Cloudforce as a Senior Cloud Solutions Administrator. 

Always looking for areas to learn more, Sam has already worked closely on M365 and Azure migrations, assisted with Fabric and OpenAI solutions, and even worked on everyone’s favorite piece of technology: printers. With more learning on his horizon, Sam is excited to continue honing his knowledge and proficiency in bringing top-notch solutions to Cloudforce clients.

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

• I wanted to be a touring car driver, amongst about 400 other things. I have always loved speed, and the technicality associated with racing on a course. Finding the improvements to shave off a few hundredths of a second is surprisingly satisfying. 

What season would you be?

• Winter. All day, every day. I adore snow, and not much beats the placidity of a frozen lake, a pair of ice skates, and the views of freshly fallen snow. If you could bottle the emotion that brings, my bank account would be in TROUBLE! 

Have you ever completed anything on your bucket list?

• How about “working to completion”? I am currently training for a half-marathon in the hopes of one day, in the relatively near future, completing a full marathon. If that wasn’t crazy enough, in the coming years, I would love to attempt an Ultra Marathon, to test my absolute limits. 

What do you do when you’re not at Cloudforce?

• Wait, you guys leave the office?! This is awkward … but in all seriousness, I will never pass on the chance to spend time on a hike, getting off the beaten path, and traveling to a place I’ve never been before. Ironically, after being surround by technology so consistently, it’s nice to occasionally have time just living the old-school life. 

What is one quote that stands out to you?

• “Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
  I took the one less traveled by,
  And that has made all the difference.
  – Robert Frost”This has always been one quote, or mantra, that has always stuck with me. Not so much for the perceived option of taking the choice that, perhaps, isn’t often taken; but rather, for the fact that we only have one chance to make certain decisions, and regardless of the choice we make, we should live that decision to its very fullest.
